I went to finish stuffing my 1176 PCB using the Lundahl optional input transformer and I found that the casing sat right on top of R*.
I tried to bend it out of the way, but the casing was still touching the leg of the resistor, and I checked to see if the casing is connected to the transformer. It turns out it is connected to the ground which means that my resistor was being grounded.
So, I put the resistor on the underside of the PCB.
Has anyone ever done this? Is it a bad thing? Obviously I'll have to be careful when I mount it to the chasis.
