Does anyone know of good books etc about the internal construction of tubes.
What I mean
Metals used plates grids etc.
cathode metals/alloys, heat treating, passivation etc..
Oxide types and things like double activation/long life oxides
Cathode oxide temps at rated voltage
Gold plating of the grids etc.
spacing of cathode to grid etc.
Yes I am looking for some real detailed information.
I suspect tubes even with the same numbers have different builds over the years and batch runs.
The RCA books show some of the metals used in the tube cutaway drawing but I am looking for information on certain tube numbers.
Iam tring to understand why certain tube s sound better than other tubes. The standard curves and specs don't contain the information I want.
I guess I am looking for the blueprints to the tube constuction.
