Chopstick inside a Atomic Squeeze Box

Look what's inside a inner tube audio atomic squeeze box...
They have used a plastic chopstick to extend a push button to the frontpanel. There's also a custom label on it to identify it as a genue inner tube audio part :)

Besides that, the unit looks like it's built 50 years ago from salvaged scrap parts.... I can't even find the manufacturer of the power transformers.
The customer wants one of the unit converted to 230V mains...

Wondering what are those big black "cans" on the Release and Slope pots ?

I'm guessing that's part of the compression "secret" circuitry...
