Yes, but it will behave differently than a 600 ohm:10K transformer.
The voltage ratio will still be 1:1 (a bit depending on the source impedance and the load), while a 'real' 600 ohm:10K transformer (approximately 1:4) will have a voltage ratio of 1:4 (12 dB voltage gain).

You have two 1:1 transformers in series. Why would you think you'd get a step-down by doing that?

i wasnt trying to get a step-down transformer out of this;
i was trying to match the impedances for my tests.

edit: my 10k:600 is on order, couldnt wait :)

I understand, but to "match the impedances" you were trying to do an impedance step-down.

i guess i was... thats way i asked...  but apparently 600:10K will work  ;)
i am good with 1:1 ratio on 600:10k for my tests... to be honest its even better, so i dont have to use pad...
i wanted to try different options for my direct DA outs, and measure whats going on when they meet
10K and 600 on the either side... with connection to 100ohm gear, and 20K gear etc vice versa 10k:600 - 600 10k , loopbacks etc etc etc...
just experimenting...
