Look for a red neon lamp.

Hey! I wanted to roll up this thread again: I am building a 1176 Rev. A from Hairball Audio and wanted to add the red power light, like in the original unit!

Does anybody have information about the dimensions of the original light and where to get one which looks as close as possible to the original?

And whats the best way to implement it in the curcuit?

Kind regards from Austria, Leo

Did you have any luck finding any info on this mod? I plan to do the same one, at some point. I came across a few photos of one that had a small pcb which was used to do the job.

I was actually on the hunt for the exact light they used on the original. I'm not exactly sure but the closest one I found was an Edelma one. I had to remove the bezel and file it shorter to match the original one

The lamp is a neon tube light.
The power source is primary AC.

The photo is my Revision B.
Since the leg was cut, I only replaced the contents that I got in Japan.
Each neon tube has a resistance value that matches its specifications and power supply voltage, so the resistance value in the photo is not helpful.
Use what you have available and a resistor appropriate for your country's voltage.
Or use the packaged version.
