Hello. A out 14 years ago I built a Hairball 1176. It’s been working fine but lately it’s started having some issues. If I turn it on and let it sit there, as time goes on, its performance starts to change, mainly input sensitivity and output level.
I have no idea what to even look at, I don’t have the diagram anymore and I am not that great with electronics.
Any suggestions would be greta or if any experts in the Tampa area has time to look at it, please contact me

Thanks

Rob

You built it, so you do have skills, so don’t be too hard on yourself :)

Have you checked the Hairball site for info/docs based on the PCB revision?
If not there, drop Mike an email.

Give all controls a good waggle to see if that changes anything, before opening it up for a thorough visual inspection.
Carefully unplug any multi connectors, inspect and re-seat.
If problems persist, then turn your attention to the PSU section.
Look for any signs of components over heating. Could be a component breaking down or bad solder joint etc.
Try measuring for any discrepancies in voltage from cold to when the issues start.

That’s just a starting point of course.

Good luck
