After nearly 29 years of solid service I finally had to open this up to replace a belt...This was one of the first cassette based consumer 4 tracks. Peavey Solid. Clean inside

I don't think it was the first, but decent for what it was.  Performance was limited by head and relatively slow/narrow tape technology.
