So, as ever, I feel my strength lies in suggesting ideas rather than actually developing them.. ;)

With this in mind, I'd like to propose someone come up with a DIY 500 series saturation/squish/dirt box...

Something along these lines..

I've been working on a dirt box but I'm very slow getting from napkin to eagle. ;D
There are so many well proven ways to build a dirt box, I'm not sure it's really very interesting. The biggest obstacle for mine will be panel real estate.

I have two of those Standard Audio Level-Or and they are nuts but they don't do subtle.
Here's another for a reasonable price.

Yeah, I saw that one too but wasn't really into the sound..

Level-or is basically a Level-Loc clone so that would be quite easy for some folk around here but I think something more in the Beirech or Rude Tube vein would be even more interesting..

On the subject of saturation, that free Softube plug-in is definitely worth checking out

Diode clipping. :) Provides plenty of dirt.
