I am designing some PCBs using the 6AQ5 beam pentode.

I was wondering what is the reason for having the grid element wired to two distinct pins (1 and 7)

I can understand why this is done on a regulator tube like 0B2, the anode has two separate connections so if the regulator tube is pulled the unregulated voltage doesn't go through.

But what about this power tube ? Only advantage I can see is more flexibility when designing a PCB, but I was wondering if there is any other advantage and whether it's best to use one pin or the other for the grid connection.

"older designs, having two pins for the grid allows for easier wiring and less congestion within the tube socket by connecting the grid to both pins internally"
