just wanted to show off this piece of gear i have standing here at home, but haven't gotten to use on anything yet (too slow to make the right connectors - old DIN-to-XLR cables... )

what would you use a thing like this for?

it has:
3 x hi-Z inputs
3 x lo-Z inputs
monitor out + a speaker/monitor in the front (see picture)
dual mono outputs

it's great adn works great - i just can't find the right thing to use it on.
i'd like to use the speaker outs, for normal outputs (as in a mic-preamp), but how can i do this?

and it was hand made in Denmark in the 40s/50s.
all Siemens and old danish-branded caps, with Phillips tubes (ECC83s etc..) and more funny tubes :)

Definitely do not rip it apart. It's a cool old relic and apparently one of a kind.

If it already has two mono outputs, why do you want to use the speaker outputs?

The first thing I'd do is to trace it out and draw a schematic.

Yeah, I'd go with Dave and attempt to trace out the schematic.

You could then maybe pinpoint a place that would be suitable for tapping off a preamp signal.

Why don't you open it up and show us a few photos? We like our preamps naked......

That looks really cool and unique. I've been meaning to post about a similar, though not nearly as esoteric, piece that I have. A Bogen MXM-A tube mixer. Details here: http://www.clarkhuckaby.com/BogenMod/MxmMain.html

Thanks to Clark for his awesome page. Mine is the A variant, with five 12AX7s and a 12AT7 on the output (with naked pics!): http://www.classicaudio.com/forsale/bogen.html

I bought mine specifically to modify. However, I don't want to duplicate Clark's mod. I would keep it all tubes and transformers. Suggestions?

Sorry for hijacking the thread. :green:
