I've seen all of the neutrik xlr connectors and haven't been really impressed with the design (as far as putting them on the bottom of the mic goes). I know that they're industry standard and that they sound great but I kind of wanted a threaded 7 pin connector for the mic itself. Anyone know of a decent threaded connector (male and female) that's reasonably priced? I found some military standard ones that were really cool but like $45-$100 (ridiculous!). I'll probably use the neutrik on the PSU side.

$5 from digikey - ok?

There are pretty good 7-pin and 10-pin locking-collar (sort of like a BNC) connectors that were used in video cameras - you can get them for $8-15 each at Markertek.
