OK, so you can buy these 3 pin Inserts for SM58 etc.

I need a 7 pin version for a Rode K2.
Are these a thing? Or do I have to go to Rode?

They are a thing. You can find them on Aliexpress or remove them from any Switchcraft style 7-pin XLR plug.
