I dislike that type of 1/4 jack. I am not a fan of united chemcon caps. I dislike soldered in tube sockets. Otherwise the pictures look OK.

Here's some pics and audio clips of my Acoustic 360 preamp clone (jc maillet's design)...

I use this quite a bit for recording bass. Sounds great, imo.

I'll also second the Hamptone JFET two-stage preamp for bass.

Charlie, where can we find circuit info for the acoustic bass preamp and the J Fet hamptone pre amp.
Vikki(uk)

I just checked out the Hamptone site for the first time in a while. Besides the cute pics of dogs sleeping off the NO Tape Op conference hangover, they've got a kit for a two gain stage Jfet booster/overdrive pedal, with wall wart power for $99. Beautiful! All you need is ouput iron, xlr output jack, and a bigger case than the supplied Hammond pedal box to get up to a studio worthy DIY, and hell, I've got most of that stuff on hand already. I believe they even have regulation on the board for the wall-wart, and an experimenter section for tweaking out the design. Hell, even to work it as a mic pre, too, it isn't much more to add. And I have things I can stuff into the leftover Hammond box.

The Acoustic 360 clone is the work of jc maillet...

If you want more info than the schematics he has posted, just write to him. He's totally cool. He was offering kits for a while and he may even be interested in just selling some PCBs. His email is at the bottom of that page.
