My pick on this based on the item description:

"I never used EQ for this microphone".--

Have you ever seen thing like this???

"I have close to 4000 dollars invested in it".

Even if the capsue backplates were machined of pure gold with ZERO TOLERANCE it would be half of this, plus another.... let's say $500 for esoteric parts and labor.

Fishy.... doesn't it look to you for ordinary U87?

To me it looks like an ordinary U87 with a bump in the housing. If that's the mod, it could be had for significantly less than $ 4000.

while I´m not gonna agree or disagree ;-) only thing to think of would be ..if someone like Klaus Heyne has done mods to this mic..I can see why it would be a 4000 usd investment.. :green: ..but I would write it if Klaus H did anything to a mic of mine...*GGG*

naaargh..okay..it kind of "stinks" a bit to me..;-)

Kind regards

Peter

Being sold "as is"??? That's a big, fat, red flag right there...

Hey, I've been hearing a lot about "clients" stealing **** from studios... Does this make anyone else suspicious? :?

Peace,
Al.

First

87s 20 years or older OFTEN need a new capsule or to be reskinned. They sometimes can't be cleaned for a few reasons, so you need to add the cost of a new capsule or the reskin. This can be alot of money

I do have mods for u87s but it is not in my best interested to share.

I am not looking to buy. I am wondering what the mod could be? As well as who did it. you figure if it was a Stephen paul mod or klaus hein mod they would have listed it.
