A more transparent SSL Clone?

I wonder what mileage there is for incorporating the Aphex Sticky Leveller principle in the SSL clone sidechain. See the patent here:

The Sticky leveller is an Aphex invention that keeps the leveler?s gain frozen until the input signal amplitude changes by more than a certain amount, which eliminates pumping.

We really like the SSL-comp for it's sonic side-effects. It was never ment to be subtle, I think..

I accept your learned judgement Jakob. Incidentally, do you have any information on the Aphex "Dynamic Recovery Computer" patent. The circuit was not included in the Compellor service manual as being "proprietry", and I can't find anything on the espace (is it?) patent site.
