Active tube equalizer?

I've seen a few passive equalizers that use tubes for make-up gain, like the Pultec, but are there any out there that use tube opamps (like the Forssell one) in an active filter configuration?

And the EAR825 - also on the gyraf pages - uses a tube opamp to make an active eq (even though it's claimed to be passive :grin: )

Those things are all so HUGE. Seem like some interesting designs, though. I wonder why more hasn't been done with this.

You answered your own question -- they're huge, and also quite expensive.
