Hi,
my buddy Reiner and me have been very busy the last few month and just wanted to show off with our new baby. The console was in a quite poor condition when I bought it since it hadn´t been used for years. The meterbridge had no meters at all and a big cut out in the center for a computer monitor. So I had to completely rebuild the meterbridge and had made some new frontpanels for the 24 Sifam meters. All channel strips and the two psus have been recapped entirely. All wires to my outboard equipment were soldered to Siemens multipin connectors.  Now the baby is working as it should and sounds just amazing. ADT is supposed to be the "german ssl", whatever that means. I´m extremly proud of my new console.

It has always puzzled me why ADT hasn't opened their doors to a wider market. As far as I'm concerned not many people know ADT although they have a hell of a lot of products. To me it seems like they don't really bother  :)

Beautiful desk BTW, I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks  :)

They have enough work to cover the german-speaking market and simply don´t want more. Expanding to a larger market does not necessarily make life of a company easier. They are committed to highest quality and don´t want to lower the bar to reach more customers through lower prices and quality corners cut. Additionally international support for products is much more troublesome than supporting a more local market.

Jens,
well spoken. There are quite a few desks from ADT all over Europe but not that many. Surprisingly you won't find any datasheet with specs or frequency plots. Mr. Jüngling, the owner of ADT, told me that of course all his desks fullfill German broadcasts standards and can be found in quite a lot of european tv and broadcast stations.

All inputs and outputs are either transformer balanced (Haufe irons) or electronicly balanced. My ADT 5MT is an early C-version built in September 1989. It is a typical 24/48 inline desk (MT for multitrack) with four band parametic EQs, variable low/high pass filters and extremly complex and flexible routing options. It has no built in dynamics as the later revisions. And yes, it does not only look fantastic, is sounds awesome. Including the 24 Sifam meter, 150 very expensive bipolar electrolytics, costum frontpanels and various other parts I spent 3K for the beauty, a real bargain if you ask me.

Bernd

Thanks gents. I thought this would be the reason  :)
