Anyone else catch this?
I just happened to catch an episode with Jack White and Los Lobos, they go into a studio and use only vintage equipment from the 1920's to record a record...
The cutting machine they used on this episode uses a weight that drops to the floor on a fabric band through a series of gears etc./ it sets the turntable speed and uses a small speaker/with a needle to cut the disc...and a bellows to suck off the chips...
Its really remarkable...Elton John does a song (writes it on the spot from Bernie Taupin lyrics just handed to him)...
