My D&R 8000 has ssm2015, too. You can change them to SSM2017 or so.. but you will need a small adapter-pcb. Everything is available from D&R i think. They also had most of the parts available when I asked them some years ago.
I have a 83page service manual with schematics, silkscreens, partslists. If you have another one, let me know.

Some mic preamps at some channels weren't working, the k-alps fader had have a scratchy sound. But with the caig stuff everything was fine. The problem with my mic preamps were broken 10R series resistors to the input of the micpre chip.
The modular channel design is nice to repair. But be very careful with the molex connectors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can plug them in but look if they are in the correct position. They don't have an end-stop or a nose so that you notice if they're correct or not. And if you plug in the 102 connectors it could be possible that you'd done a mistake. The connector could be one step to the left or to the right so all connections are wrong then. I know what iam talking about
 :green: Shit happens to me. (i mean... you could use the broken 2N3055 in the psu for other things)
Some time ago someone had have problems with his D&R8000 also, and I gave him the advise to look twice at the connectors if they're correct or not... 2 days later... i received an email from him..."..my psu is broken"

The only disadvantage with the D&R are the radiohm pots (not so good pots), the patchbay (nothing modular, hard to repair), the master modul (patchbay and mastermodul are wired directly to the console... no plugs)
....but I haven't done any mods. for me it rocks good enough how it is and I have two new (old) consoles yet.

Frank.
