I posted this over at R O back in the day but i still would like a copy of schematics for an Alesis X2 console and maybe other crap too..?

alesis has been no help, won't return emails.. called them a long time ago and they said they would get back to me and never did..

FWIW, I must have the schematic of the Quadraverb somewhere - it was in the day they still provided stuff. Be warned, it's a poor copy, but if someone's interested I can dig it up & scan.

And FWIW#2, I traced the Micro-enhancer years ago. Just give a yell when interested.

Bye,

Peter

i don´t have a scanner and i´ve only got the scematic for the input module. i used to service these. maybe i can help.

what would be good is if i could get hold of a scanner. but i believe my friend's scanner is still broken. i´ll have to check.

Hi Peter
I have one broken Alesis Quadraverb + (not II). Display gone and I need schematic for repair this.
Thanks in advance

Hi Duka,

OK, I'll start digging, stay tuned. Mine is QV+ as well, but as I understood the difference of QV+ w.r.t. the QV is only in the software ((E)EPROM-swapping I thought).

Hi Peter
Yes, difference is only sofrware.

Scans are here:

QV (486k)

and since the old binder was out of the closet anyway:
MicroEnhancer - traced (397k):

Bye,

Thanks for those. I'll join up the 3 scans of the enhancer and see how close it is to the Aphex!

Sorry I wasn't able to make it a one piece right away... A3-schematic & A4-scanner.

I think the Aphex is unlike the Alesis. As I understood it the Aphex does some distortion as well and the alesis does only some dynamic hi-EQing.

Bye,

Peter

Oops, now the right half of the display of my QV+ is gone too  . Did you manage to repair something Duka ? Any tips ? Did you get a new display or wasn't that the error ?

For my unit:
The right half of the 2*16 character display doesn't work properly.
So when we number the characters from left to right, top to bottom,
the characters 9-16 & 25-32 are absent (or very very faint when looking at an angle).
The left half works fine.

I have opened the unit & removed the 14-pin connector. On the schematics above that's connector 'J5'.
When powering on with that ribbon-cable removed I do see
several characters in the right side display, which gives me the impression
something is not OK with the display-electronics prior to the ribbon (so on the main-PCB).

Thanks,

Peter

pm me, I have the X2 info you need  ....anybody else? It will be much easier to photocopy a few copies. I'll just need to cover the copies (about 60 pages afaik) and postage (paypal)
