Anybody replaced the tolex cover on their Roland SH-5 (or something similar)?

I've had a look around online but haven't found much if any information on re-tolexing an SH-5. Obviously it can't be that different from re-tolexing just about anything else but what I'm looking for is a confirmation (or info) of what style of tolex they originally used for it. If you have any input or advice it would be greatly appreciated??

I know that is not the requested answer, but SH5 with the famous Marshall grey elephant tolex we found on the silver jubilee series will look just fantastic :)

I've recovered a few amps in my day. Not fun. Anyway, tolex these days tend to be Broco, Levant or elephant. Fender uses bronco, old Marshalls used Levant, and modern Marshalls use elephant.

Not familiar with the SH-5, but I did find these pictures online.

To me, that looks exactly like the same tolex used on JCM900 Marshalls. Like spot on exactly. So, yeh, I'd go with black elephant.

Hi Alva,

Your input is much appreciated! I ordered two meters of black elephant tolex from Mojotone last night and that definitely allays any of my concerns!

Pardon the aside, but If not the OP, then maybe someone else following this thread might get some fun out of this free VST I built with Flowstone that has the GUI of SH-5 but adds some functions from the SH-7.

If there's interest, I can do a 64bit version and post a link here.
