anyone got experience with an Urei 7710 compressor

I adore my Urei 7710 but it doesn't has the trafo balanced option.
Anyone knows by what kind of transformers I can load this baby, suppose I go with none original ones ?

I've no idea about what transformer you should use... but the studio I work at sometimes has 4 of them, 2 with the transformers & 2 withough & I don't think they sound significantly different (to be honest I can't even remember which is which). They are cool compressors, I like the peak / average knob & they do sound good on guitars and drum sub mix.

I think you mean the Jbl/Urei 7110 compressor? In that case, I think you can use just about any 600:600 Ohms line transformer.

I think you can still get the originals as spare parts from JBL. Last I heard they were $35.

secret weapon?
i got a couple in the rack and really never use them. only as a sort of "utility knife" when all the other stuff is already in use.

apparently i need to give it another chance. what do you dig it for?
