need a simple type plate for my federal 864.

Press-and-peel mask. Aluminum sheet. Acid-etch.

Snag that image. Clean it up really good. Make a negative. It may have to be reversed? Print that image with a laser printer on a page ripped from Playboy or other very-slick magazine.

Get your aluminum VERY clean. Tape the laser-print ink-down on the aluminum. Apply a hot clothes-iron for several minutes, so the laser toner melts onto the aluminum. When cool, soak the paper off.

Study StompBox forums for metal-etching techniques. The etch will eat the aluminum where you want black. You want a fairly deep etch.

When etched, flood black paint in the etched areas, let dry, sand the un-etched areas clean.

Use a stamp-set to stamp your serial number.
