Auditronics Switching Module DOA upgrade

Looking for mod suggestions for the Auditronics 501 switching output module. I have some Melcor style 1731 DOA with a dip 8 footprint . I want to replace the IC in the switching module and am after some advice on doing this , should I replace IC1 or IC2 , if IC2 how should I deal with Q1 and Q2 ? Any suggestions or advice would be great .
