As drawn, those two PNPs will be doing random things. Want a current mirror there ?[/quote]

Oops! Missed the link from the Bases to LHS Collector!!!
D'oh.
That's the only thing right?

So I've got a few front ends up and running, and the winner so far with an sk170 in place of the first BJT, is the first Sziklai variation in the link that Peter referenced http://www.dself.dsl.pipex.com/ampins/discrete/cfp.htm
Great.
But, I was hoping to get by without a split rail supply...
With my infinitely small knowledge of these things I have tried to work out if I can run it from a single rail, read: 9V, but am struggling.
Any light shed would be welcome!

No problem, single rail just requires some additional components for biasing, see the Jensen- & ESP-circuits on page one of this thread.

Cheers,

I am a donkey.
Got too hung up on Mr Self's site and ignored the Jensen stuff, like the idiot that I am!
Right, I'm back on track and begining to feel fondly for silicon... :thumb:
I thought I would be able to do it with some biasing on the front end, but must just have mis-calculated what the bias voltage needed to be as I ended up with just DC at o/p.
Still it's all good fun!
