Thanks, very useful!
I mean, imagine getting lost in the wet cold wilderness, what do you need most?
Of course! Light one up! Works more reliable than bowdrill and tinderbox, too...

Ive used an RC style smart charger with 18650 cells for years , you connect the +/- but also each cell has to have its voltage monitored as you charge . Good idea to make a powerbank for stomp boxes , multiple wallwart switcher supplies are often unsatisfactory on pedal boards .

i am trying to power

MXR Brown Acid
Dan Electro Fab Overdrive
DigiTech Ventura Vibe
MXR Phase 90 Script Reissue
EHX Cockfight
Visual Sound Garage Tone Axle Grease Delay
Boss OD2
Xotic Effects BB Preamp
Ibanez DIY Tube Screamer
Dan Electro DanEcho
Boss RC1 Looper

so you can imagine the hassle. Ground loops, hum, fizz, other gremlins,

Samsung 35E 3500 milliamp-hour out to be good for a little while,

and i got this cool charger coming in that has individual slot programming, multiple current ranges and enuff readouts to keep any geek happy>

I found these great power packs on ebay designed for 4 or 6 18650 cells , outputs both 12v and 5 v USB ,
very solid case with webing belt ,waterproof thumb screw clamp down lid could be easily used to bolt them down to a pedal board. Charging is left at the disgretion of the user ,although a stern warning should be given to anyone about the dangers of mishandling the cells , other than that definately looks very road proof . Might be a 9 volt version available also .

Handy for the workbench too , or anywhere remote power is needed .

nice!

i thought of using a Makita battery with the receptor on the pedal board, quick disconnect for charging, probably protected, but nobody uses 9 or 12 volts any more it has shot up to 18 and 24, people are getting torque hungry or something, regs chew juice so no go on the 18-24 batt, they gots old 9 and batts on evilbay but i bet they cooked like crispy bacon,

What is your motivation? I don't think portability is the issue, unless you have a battery powered amp... :)

Ive noticed the trend to go higher and higher with stompbox supplies also , plenty of digital pedals now have non standard voltages more akin to laptop supplies around 20 volts at a couple of amps , theres a lot of power flowing in the wiring compared to old fashioned pedals which typically use a few tens of mA
The only way to do it might be individual regulators each tailored to 9, 12 or what ever supply is required . Its a right mess nowadays .

I still have an old fashioned 2A Roland transformer/regulated 9 volt supply I use regularly , never an issue with it . Its handy to have some rechargable 9volt batteries around though just in case a particular pedal doesnt behave on its own mains supply .
