We're lucky to not buy books written by AI these days... they're everywhere on amazon. Some are really dangerous, like AI confabulated books about which mushrooms to cook and which to avoid...
I've serviced both the Bauers and UA many times and they are exactly the same although you do see differing coupling cap arrangements in both and I have seen different power supply values for ones sold in asia to use 100vac mains.
The Bauers don't appear to be kits but re-branded UA units, I know Bill's son...he might know about some marketing agreements from back in the day.

There is an interesting part of the manual explaining how to select a low noise 6bc8. Look at the balancing adjustments section part d.
