I've got a few of these units.  Just snagged another one that had the "output 2 hissing/noise" problem, which so far has been attributed to the glue on the ribbon connectors.

However, in removing this glue tonight - I should never do these things late... :-(  - I broke off what looks like a small cap, marked L2 on the board.  I cannot find schematics for this thing anywhere, so if someone has it and can tell me what L2 is, that would be awesome.  It's really tiny...and I'm not entirely sure it IS a cap...

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks!

Schematics are in gmail. and yeah L2 is inductor for that 5v to 3,3v regulator.
btw. while you're at it, you should fix that 7-pole cable(psu to dsp board  x4-x2)

great unit soundwise, for the price certainly (£100 for mine). mine developed the common and lamented screen freezing problem, all it took was reseating the connectors. quality control on the build was dreadful.

Ya, it's funny I was actually reseating this one (since it showed up with that problem, and I've been able to fix others with that same method) when I slipped with the screwdriver and ripped the inductor in half...

WOW!!!  This inductor that showed up is MASSIVE!!  I can make it fit though.

But, one leg is longer than the other - does this mean it's polarity based?  Does it matter which way an inductor is soldered in??  I wasn't aware of that...I thought they were all bi-polar.
