Hi folks,

I have some old beyer TR145 input transformers  and I found an information sheet that states:

Quote:
"These transformers however can only be used in circuits where AC voltages are low and no DC loads are applied"
End Quote:

Does this mean that if I want to use Phantom Power, I will have to install blocking caps between my XLR inputs and the Transformer Primary.

thank you gents.

No they should be fine.  Phantom power is applied equally to both XLR pins 2 and 3 (and therefore both ends of trafo primary) so no DC current flows through the transformer. This is why it is important to match your 6K8 resistors.
