Hi,

My laptop is dead,i guess.I sent my laptop to two different service but no one knows what is wrong with my laptop. Now i will tell what happened to my laptop.I guess someone can tell something about it.

Onboard soundcard's ground wire touched to +/- 15V transformers "0" wire.My English is bad.So i added a simple paint about what happened.

When it touched,my laptop suddenly closed. Then i remove plug of laptop power. Then i plugged again but there was no response!Even no power light on laptop...What do you think about it?As i said, services said "we can't find anything!". :-X

My all projects are waiting because of this! Please help me about it.

Thanks...

No lights, no power... Maybe an internal fuse blown?
Did you check the voltage coming out of the mains adapter?
If the output of the transformer was 'floating', nothing should have happened!
Wasn't it just coincidence?!
(Maybe you could have blown the output of the soundcard, but certainly not the whole computer I suppose...)

Yes...No light,no power.I think it's maybe about internal fuse but if it's about fuse,services could find,right?

Yes,i checked mains adapter. No problem with it.

Transformer wasn't floating. It was feeding the circuit.Onboard soundcard's hot wire was connected to circuit. And transformer was feeding to this circuit.

Coincidence about what?Touched wires? It was absolutely coincidence! My work place is messy because i'll move house.

Tomorrow service will send back my laptop. Then i will check internal fuses.

I searched about this issue and some people said "maybe it's about static electricity".Is this possible? There are some solutions to fix static electricity.I will try...But i don't think it's that easy.

The fact that your PC is 'completely dead' would make things easier!
Nothing worse than "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't"!
It looks like there is no power getting into the mainboard.
A good computer technician should be able to find the fault.

Completely dead...I don't want to think.

Tomorrow i will check issues about power.First of all fuses...Then i will write what i found...

It's interesting that they didn't find any issue. And two service are biggest services in my country. How embarrassing...If i can't figure it out,i will look for independent computer technician.

Did you measure the laptop power supply output? is it working ok?

I agree with RuudNL, usually is better "absolutely dead" than randomly dead...

In a happy world maybe your computer is ok, and the power supply dead, hopefully...

Did you see smoke coming out, bad smell or something? Perhaps the battery got discharged just in that moment, sounds crazy, I know, but that kind of things happen...

You mean power supply inside of laptop?I didn't check anything instead of mains adapter. But services said that they never got power.

I didn't get anything like smoke or bad smell. When it down,i went to service directly. But they didn't find anything...

my laptop didnt start with dead battery. have you tried battery disconnected?

Thanks for reply.

I tried disconnet battery but changed nothing.

Services said that "We can't find any problem. There are no blown IC or something like this.Maybe shortcircuit but we can't find."

Like i said when i get my laptop back,i will check fuse and static electricity.I will start to check from adapter input...I'm waiting about 3 weeks. It's really annoying.

It looks like blown fuse but i can't imagine how services can't find this!So i think it's not about fuse.We will see...

First things first, did you make any recent backup?

If not, start by getting your Hard Drive out of the box and make a copy from another computer. (I know it's basics, but you can't imagine how much people forget their basics).

Then,  if it doesn't react at all (no leds, no fans), i would check connections from batteries and supply as said before.

Hope you won't use your datas, imo it worth a lot more than a laptop.

Bests,

Thomas

I mean the brick-like power supply  that usually feeds the laptop, does it's output work? Did you measure it's voltage with a multimeter?

Hello,
Did You measure Current or just the Voltage of Your Powersupply? Sometimes You have Voltage but no or low Current because a  Powertransistor blowed because of the Short .
Did You try another Powersupply?
If You search for internal Fuses on the Board, You probably  know that they sometimes don t  look like a normal Fuse but more like a Condenser or Resistor, in this Case difficult to find and to check, because they are soldered on the Board. Don t give up, that  the " Repair Service " diidn t find  anything, that  doesn t mean anything  , most of the Time. A recap of the internal Powersupply in  case of a blown  Condenser is possible If You can  solder SMD. If You open Your Laptop be carefull  , sometimes it s difficult to get Access  to the Board .
Good  Luck !
Lothar

It's dead. There are lots of shortcircuits and dead chips.I have to change motherboard.

Thanks for all replies and helps.
