I cant fint the specs of 'componex 3L' I opened it up, there are two very small (unmarked)bulbs in series.
two meters run in series in my unit.

I'd like to leave them as they are running off the filtered, unregulated DC power. but I got this far by trial and error.
is there a better method for determining the dropping resistor or measuring the required current for a meter bulb without written specs or known wattage??

hey,
cheers for the response
this is an unknown bulb, there are no markings
i have no reason to believe they aren't just fine. they are unused, but...
i would rather not disconnect/unsolder, the housing is tight, the wiring is tight, the plastic is clost to soldering and currently, it is also neat, i would risk all that by man handling it.

however, presuming i can access just one bulb. would i measure current as normal?
i assumed the filament would draw the maximum needed and available from my bench psu?
do i just need to calculate the correct voltage and let it do its thing?

thinking of the amp testing setup with a 240v bulb in mains series, this limits the current on its own, so do i just need to determine the correct voltage, do i just guess a voltage with ohms law then calculate power for the resistor wattage?
