Since I have had downtime due to the current state of affairs, I been listening and wondering how things got recorded. It's a great way to think of techniques and ideas you can apply when in the studio
tonights section is real puzzler. so much going on such as crazy pitch shifting way before things like the eventide harmonizer ever existed. What's even more interesting is by all accounts, Joe meek never owned a stereo deck or mixer that would allow him to do stereo.
Now the harmonizer bit is somewhat explainable by changing tape speeds and having it variable and the other effects going on with that are quite cool.
The Stereo thing, well I am at a complete loss, how does one get stereo out of a single mono track, but have it sound like stereo mix vs some quasi added reverb stereo thing.
