I saw a broken neumann km84i for sale, very cheap so I’m quite interested. I’m just wondering in any one has experience repairing a broken capsule or or it’s even posible?

If ut needs to be reskinned, then I t needs a lot of experience and knowledge, I doubt that it is a diy job. There are several experts around the globe which do the job. Neumann used to replace capsules with new ones, which might not be what you want.

It appears that the pin inside de kk84 capsule has come off. I’m not so familiar with these specific capsules and I’m wondering if this is somewhat realistic to fix yourself or if its scrap.

The pick-up pin broke off. That’s not an easy fix as the rest of the screw is probably still in the backplate… you can see how it is build here (it’s for the KK83 but it’s almost the same as KK84):

The thread is probably something like M1,6 or even smaller. So you’d have to drill the remaining screw out without damaging the thread of the backplate. If you don’t have a precision drill or milling machine I would not do it.

..i'd be inclined to try with conductive glue, you don't have much to loose - and a couple of hundred ohms at that point won't degrade anything..

I got a new km84 capsule assy from neumann berlin only a couple of years ago, perhaps they still have spares?
