Card Edge Connector Questions

Hi Folks -

As always, thanks for any help you can provide.

I am looking for a 10 position card edge connector with 5.08 mm pitch, ideally with solder lugs on the back end. My understanding is that the pitch is measured from the center of a connector to the center of the next and that the spaces are equal to the trace/connector width. Is this correct?

I can't seem to find that connector anywhere using the usual suspects - Mouser, Digikey, Newark (Farnell) and with a quick google.

Any hot tips?

I don't think this is a hard rule, different connectors may be setup for different spacing depending on the use case (crosstalk requirements, leakage requirements from high voltages, etc.).

10 positions is a relatively small number.Maybe edge connectors do not go that small. HVE YOU TRIED 12 OR 16 WAYS?

Are you looking for single or double sided?

I haven't yet looked for 12 or 16 ways - I guess I could do that and pin off the unused positions.

Single sided is what I'm after.

I haven't checked, but a double sided 20 contact connector should work. The 5.08 pitch is the oddball, regardless.

While the spec is center to center, I always measure edge to edge:



It is easier than guessing the center. Which is why I suspect you need a 5mm spacing, not 5.08

I typically measure across a span of multiple contacts, then divide by the quantity of contacts in that span.
