Compressor stopped working

Bought a Golden Age Comp 54 that arrived today.  If you're not familiar with the unit, it's a knock off of Neve style diode compressors.  Messed around with it for about 5 minutes, and it sounded great.  Then suddenly, it stopped working.  The meter was showing gain reduction, but no output level.

I started messing with my cables, and noticed that it would work when I pulled out the TRS jacks so that it was running unbalanced.  Any idea what could be causing my problem?

check the solder joints , No QC on those chinese things

Drain the water out of the crankcase. Remove piston. Get a bar against the crank and apply big hammer until the bearing frees-up. Soak in thin oil, then in proper compressor oil. Worked for me......

OH! You mean audio compressor, not air compressor. Sorry.
