Damping headbasket ringing

I searched other mic body related threads, but didn’t find exactly what I was looking for.

I have a u87 copy in a Chinese body whose heabasket rings much louder than any other mic I have. Has anyone else had similar problems, and found a way with lessening it’s effect?

I've had very good results with Coax-Seal.

Kills ringing dead in it's tracks, even in fairly thin layers.

Helps to wet your fingers when pressing into place.

Thanks for the info. What I'm hearing occurs when I touch the metal grille mesh. Will applying something like that to the base of the headbasket stop that?

That, and the inside of the inside of the frame/bars of the basket.
