I am having an hard time repairing a Roland Space Echo motor

Basically slows down as soon as some pressure is applied. The pinch roller cannot be tensioned properly, because at the correct tension the motor slows down considerably

I swapped the motor with a working one from another unit, and that operated perfectly, so the problem is definitely in the motor itself and not somewhere else in the circuit

Initially I thought I had a worn out bearing so I replaced that, but the problem persisted

Now I'm thinking the problem should be the two hall sensor ics. There is not much else that could go wrong besides these. There is also a lower bronze bearing but that seems perfectly fine

I was gonna try replacing these sensor ics but I cannot figure out a correct replacement. The original ics in the motor are sealed and couldn't fid any information on the original service manual

Can you please recommend me a suitable replacement ?

The motor is a Pioneer M-502E-B02 operating voltage 24V

Do you think this would work as a replacement ?

Hi Beatnik, you can order a complete motor rebuild kit from www.echofix.com

If that's too much money, I have some left over hall effect ICs from a motor that did not need new ones.  I can send them to you for the cost of postage from USA.

hi mate, thanks for your offer i really appreciate it

could you please let me know if there is a product name on the ics ? maybe i can order them here in the uk without having to wait for overseas postage

cheers

alright, i have been confirmed by a repair guy you can use honeywell ss42r in place of the original sensor (matching the pinout)

thanks for offering to help. i think i will get these from mouser as they will probably come through quicker
