hi, i know this must be asked all the time, and i know there is lots of information out there, but i am having trouble collating it all, so any help will be useful...

i am interested in building a rack mounted dual channel API 312 pre amp (rather than using the 500 lunch box).

i have seen this kit at http://classicapi.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_47_55_91_95&products_id=171 which seems simple enough to construct, but i know i need a PSU (internal preferably) and chassis to mount it in.

i essentially want to end up with something like this http://www.gearslutz.com/board/geekslutz-forum/194452-my-new-p-i-312-clones.html

any links/information/anything will be helpful, if only there was a pdf of "HOW TO CONSTRUCT API 312"...

thanks for anything

Jonny

I used to sell boards and kits, the ones you linked at GS.
312 preamps are really easy to build.
you need a little research on the META.

I'll PM you.

Hi 3nity:
are you still making 312 pcb?, are these compatible with jensen JT-110K-HPC?, i'm asking this because the zobel network.

I've just finished a kit that has 4 312s in a 1RU case.  If you are in the market, check it out here:

yeah, well, my pre-amp has angled capacitors.  So there!

I know, I know.  Kinda strange to have 2 guys making essentially the same boards - especially since we are both from montréal.

Mine is a full kit and I'm only trying to sell 10 of 'em before I move on to other projects.

I put a link to your whitemarket page on my feeler but I'm hoping the two builds will appeal to different types of DIYers.

Hi,
I did exactly that, using the kits you mentioned from classicapi.com and the JLM PSU.

Worked out perfect, I highly recommend both kits!!

These are the 312/990 boards I made last year. There are some being sold by another forum member in the BM right now, including an already built, 4 ch 1U unit:
