Ok but what does this look like, should current rise then fall at the onset of saturation?

If I set up a test like this.

Signal gen in series with ammeter into primary side of transformer.

Scope channel 1 monitors input, scope channel 2 monitors secondary.

I turn the voltage up and can watch the secondary waveform start to turn nasty, at the very onset of the waveform distorting is this saturation?  If so, how does that translate to seeing the Henrys decrease?

Current only continues to rise, and my XL calculations are making no sense for a small microphone transformer to have hundreds of Henry at 20Hz.  (or is this correct, it looks like some high perm mu lams)

What am I missing here, something simple.
