My VERY limited understanding is that LDC or electret capsule, if not by intention are inherently capacitors?

My schoolboy electronics knowledge tells me long and closes leads can be inductive and lead to higher frequency issues, is this a non-issue due to the frequency we are using them for and is there a difference in this regard between LDCs and Electret.

Sorry if it's a silly question.

welcome,
with a LDC with head amp relatively near to the capsule there's very high impedences involved, electrically: too long not good but better'n too short
mechanical properties maybe more important. flexibility and low mass is good, too tight or too loopy could rattle or contribute to mechanical resonant modes. also insulation/leakage may be a concern due to impedances
capacitance of a long lead can be an issue with lavalier

Thank you, that was an incredibly helpful answer. Really appreciated!
