emt140 subminiature fuses

Anyone know where I can order  the subminiature fuse that goes in the EMT 162 electronics

Already  popped one and I do not risk using the spare as I am certain there is a fault that crept up.

As per the schematic, it is described as a subminiture fuse.

The description per schematic is literally subminiature fuse. I would say it is smaller the an sfe4 fuse and has 2 radial leads.

no,  but that is close, this looks in size and shape to a tiny electrolytic capacitor

Well, between seeing some photos of the actual things that are needed, and this latest description... Any chance they have a 5mm pin pitch?

thanks. that looks very close. I was thinking that I may just change the connector so it fits a more common small AG size fuse as these are not found locally.

Considering the outrageous price of the originals, I would do that.

I would suspect it could be done without issue, will test and see. Another person proposed bypassing it altogether. Something I am highly against.  it may not be the mains fuse, but clearly it  has purpose otherwise they wouldn't have  it on the circuit.

Well, especially with fuses, unless for some unfathomable reason one might insist on keeping the device "period accurate" or whatever, and unless the board / physical layout demands it, i would argue there's no reason left to not use a much more standard format. Especially since fuses aren't exactly what one might call "esoteric" components (as opposed to some tubes or integrated circuits etc).

In that context, some of us, even if we might not be aware of the EXACT component and form factor in question, we can still dig up some (hopefully) compatible ones, assuming we're given some clear description and/or parameters. As i pointed out above, "the subminiature fuse that goes in the EMT 162 electronics" (despite "emt140" being mentioned in the title  ??? ) is about as clear as mud 

With likely a few notable exceptions, i doubt anyone here is quite THAT complete of an "encyclopedia", so... Y'know, give us a (fighting) chance  ;D
