Hi, i am about to make some JE-990, and my ferrite beads arrived a while ago.

I wanted to know if someone knows how much diameter the enamelled copper wire has to be, or the length will just depends in the number of turns, i have never winded up an inductor before

Thanks

wire size  will depend on the number of turns needed to give you the  value you need.  For example in a guitar pickup the wire is something like 42awg but your doing thousands of turns to get the required value. I am sure cj will correct my statement

Ptownkid used to sell 990 kits, maybe he remembers what wire he used to use.

Sorry to dig up this old thread. I came across this while googling information about some old 990 boards and sets I have lying around and I might as well leave an answer for the next person who finds this.

According to the original paper http://www.technicalaudio.com/pdf/Jensen_Transformers/Jensen_OpAmps_990_and_related/Jensen_JE-990_opamp_JAES_reprint_1980.pdf

30 AWG wire should be used.
