Here is a bunch of jpg's that I hope will print ok. Printer went down two weeks ago. Funny how you can get by without stuff that you thought you just had to have. Do not miss the printer a bit.

This is a dis-continued Radio Shack book, one in a series that all you new guys should have, but unfortunately, RS sometimes gets rid of some of their best products.

My first try making a zip file, still turned out to be 2.2 Meg, so Warning!
Individual jpg's might be the way.

Thanks CJ

Rat Shack used to be pretty cool.
Until the dumbing down of America.

Now they don't even know they carry opamps!
The owner of a local Rat Shack said he's never heard of a zener diode.

Wha, You don't watch the Simpsons!!??

Here's a quote from another Rat Shack Manager I heard last month
regarding those component drawers.

"At Radio Shack Certification Class, this area (pointing at the drawers)
is always the last thing we want to study"

That was shirt and tied yahoo who did'nt know where the opamps might be.

Good Lord...

I know. I went to "the drawers" beacuase a transistor mounting kit shipment got lost.
I asked for some mica transistor pads, you know, the ones you use with the grease?

No clue.
No mica.
Over to Fry's (God Help Me)

No better.

"Do you have transistor mounting kit?"

"Do you know the part number?"

"Well if I did, I wouldn't need to bother you, now would I?"

Recipe for Fry's:

Take a huge store, fill it full of stuff and hire a boat load of Cuban refugees to agrivate the customers.
What do those people do there?
They stand around their computer, two or three at a time, and shoot the B.S.

I ened up cutting a NTE TO-3 wsher down into a 220 version.
Product shipped. Boss happy.Looked in NTE catalog and found the part myself.

Very cool, CJ! I really gotta start trying to learn about solid state...

Thanks! :thumb:

Peace,
Al.

I put it all together as a single PDF for ease of downloading, but it came out at a whopping 9MB! I honestly don't know how to make the file smaller on my PC, maybe I'll try on the Mac tomorrow.

Peace,
Al.

I printed a page and compared it to my copy. Looked pretty good. Not too pixelated and you can still read it.

I combined them into a pdf (2.5 meg) if people want:
Why won`t page 21 download ???
Oh, yeah... forgot about that. Try this: Clicky

Peace,
Al.

Thanks Al, I fixed 21, had a peroid missing at the ext.

Good to hear it prints.
I used 45 percent resolution to keep file size down, which compromises the image.

I have the other books too, like the 555 book, the logic book, the opto electronics book, but i think the op amp book is the most useful for people here.

OOOOOOO!!! I'm down for the logic and opto ones, if you could... Take your time, though - working a scanner for too long rots the brain, loosens the bowels, and can even cause E.D.

Peace,
Al.

That book and the Semiconductor one are what I started electronics with. I think I have the whole series including the big 125 page all inclusive version, no idea where they came from. I can scan the Semiconductor one since CJ seems to be missing it, get the whole series online.

wow I forgot about those books. This is where I got started too. Forrest M Mims. when I was a kid I must have had about 6 different titles in the series. and then I got the "big" book too. I wish I knew where it was now.
