I've recently made a some experiment on the hybrid tube mosfet Erno Borbely Op Amp, using the russiam submini tube 6N16b, the test was done with a gain of 10, with a variable PSU to +/-24 till +/- 64.  things seams change a lot in term of distortion from 24 to 50, and no substantial change from 50 to 64.

so I 've decided to run the baby with +/- 48, . the Op Amp sounds very good with a Cinemag CMOQ-2L as output trasformers, and now I wanna try to build a trasformer coupled mic pre around this OpAmp.

the question is :  Since I've burn up some resistors during R5 trimming I'm afraid something else was happened,  the output trasformer, wire 2:1 isn't really burn up , but now when I put it on a metal base, like the bottom of a my case, it loose 6db, seams to me it has loosed isolation... possible  ( !? )

maybe was a defected one

too match out put current can cook the trasformer ?

thank you.

clik to see schem.

I doubt the transformer got damaged--otherwise it'd likely not work at all. Probably mis-wired something.

Thank you Samuel

probably it is a defected one.. the trasformer works , if you put it on metal loose 6db.. on bread bord every it's ok. strange but true.
