that's not the akg perception 420 the guy in the video was talking about!
Do you need omnidirectional and/or figure-8 patterns? Or just cardioid?

@plautusThe 200 is the cardioid version of the 400/420
for Voice Acting you don't need Omni/8figure
You can scream all you want in them.I read it. He doesnt mention akg200. he mentions 220 and 420\
"AKG's Perception 220 is a revised version of the Perception 200; both are fixed-cardioid, large-diaphragm FET condensers. The single obvious difference between the two mics is the pad; the -10dB pad on the 200 has been changed to a -20dB pad on the 220."
Are the inner components the exact same? Soundwise same? And the only difference is that u can easier shout into the 220 bc u can lower the db easily? DO I understand this correctly?
Rode nt1 - mudd mess
tlm193 - an upgrade nt1, same sound, slightly warmer
tlm103 - overly bright, no wonder the unintelligent mainstream consumer loves this mic
Warm, clear, and NOT SIBILANT (the tlm103 is sibilant)
how do I tune it to my voice with a capacitor? I thought that;'s what EQ is for.You can scream all you want in them.
Even if you are a jet plane.
Maximum SPL=145dB
You adjust the sound as you like from a single 1 euro capacitor, to tune it to your voice.
I have the solution, if you are looking for "Warm, clear, and NOT SIBILANT":
1- Sony C800 G
2- Neumann U47 (vintage)
3- Neumann U87i
Two first are some of the warmest, clearest AND not sibilant microphones I have heard in studios.
Three different styles AND three different sounds, but who correspond to your listed requirements.
I suggest you start saving your pennies though - DIY.

Question:how do I tune it to my voice with a capacitor? I thought that;'s what EQ is for.
It is important that the mic sounds better (richer, a bit clearer, rounder)
as far as i know the sony Sony C800 G mic sounds too steril and sibilant. The neumanns are scammy overpriced and some r heavy or require extra equipment
i dont underrstand the quoting system here
The AKG Perception microphones have very good bass, but exaggerated highs. By tweaking a capacitor in the deemphasis circuit, the treble can be attenuated so that it sounds balanced on one voice or another.how do I tune it to my voice with a capacitor? I thought that;'s what EQ is for.

200 is similar to 220ALso can I buy the p200 and do the same as with the p220?
They have the same bodybtw I heard the 420 mic is super heavy, is the p200 heavy too?
When we reduce the highs by about 2-3 dB, we automatically reduce the noise. This method of Deemphasis was designed by Neumann specifically to reduce noise. A capsule is built with many highs, then the highs are attenuated and the noise simultaneously.what about the self noise? f 16dBA, thats higher than on the Rode NT1, could bother me if i notice it. Is this the same wiht the mod>?
The Perception series capsule is the best Takstar capsule closest to Neumann. Even if you put an original Neumann capsule in Perception you won't hear much difference. The Neumann capsule has a tolerance of +/- 2%. So even very good and expensive microphones, of the same model, have small differences between them, but which in practical use do not matter.and the link u gave me, they mention also the change of the capsule that's more than just changing that capacitor...
I see. U say the 220 and the 200 are similar. Is the sound the same? When we reduce the highs by about 2-3 dB, we automatically reduce the noise. In real life what is below 15..16 dB noise
it is not perceptible at the end with the whole audio material, especially on YouTube or other media platforms.
that is g ood, so i dotn need to worry about changing capsules...The Perception series capsule is the best Takstar capsule closest to Neumann. Fortunately, I have the words with me.Folks, face it: no matter what you suggest, it will be met with an argument.
