Extented dual pultec, low boost gain too much!

As I'm using my "tat's Extended dual pultec" eq in an live situation, i'm always getting scared of the amount of low boost gain!

Anyone knows how to adjust gain range on the low-boost section? i never go past 1/3 and the "workable range" is too small on the pot.

decrease the pot size to the max amount you'll ever use and add in a series resistor to build out the lost resistance from the old pot?

Do you have the correct taper pot?  What you describe sounds like linear pot action where log would give more range.

I have to get a look in my pultec next week.. would be easy to solve then
