Hey folks,

I'm collecting parts for my Neve 1084 project and while looking at all the different transformer option, I stumbled upon the TAB Funkenwerk transformers. I send them an email asking about how close they are to the vintage ones and about availability. I got a reply the same day and they said these are exact replacement in terms of winding style and lamination. Only difference is mounting style.
They offer:

-Classic look but with wire leads $80
-PC mountable version $65

The problem is, they only start manufacturing them at a order of 10+ transformers...

As I only heard good thinks about TAB Funkenwerk, I really want to try there version of the classic tramsformer.
I will ask for some pictures and if there are any pricedrops at certain quantities.
But for now, I wanted to ask, if there is any interest in these?

PS: They also make mic and line input transformers. Will ask them about these too.

If you count in tax and customs this pricing seems a little steep for what is essentially a cheapo power transformer.
As you are in Europe why don't you simply order the Carnhill equivalent from Colin at AML?

If i had too chose i would go for carnhill definately - this is closest as possible option and todays "Neve" use it.
I truly don't believe about all these original laminations and other blah blah with tab funkwerk - all of their vintage replacements - are always "like original" - despite whetever it's and what for and most important- what's the origin of original transformer...
They have same type of lamination of whole world!!!
Who can check that?!?

Thanks for your  concerns guys. I already have a carnhill here for one channel, but I wanted to try another option just for comparison.  As I've read from alot of people, that the carnhills are not exact replicas and are not that good...
But it seems that there is no interest in the TAB transformer, so I will probably just get another carnhill. I'm sure I can get good results either way.

Thanks

You can try the 8751 Neve/Darlington Line Output from Sowter, I heard  good things about it.
Unfortunately not the cheapest one...
