Sorry to distract from this thread but just curious if you have used / tested out another one of these?  How do they compare to Tim's and / or Peluso's cek-12?

I never did an A/B comparison, but I guess the sound of the VK-12 is close to a CT-12. (I have tested a CT-12 in the past.)
The Peluso I never tested, so Ican't say anything about that one.
