@ripac What island are you on? I lived on Leyte for a while, petitioned my fiance 20 years ago...
How is it getting parts there? It is possible to order from Amazon in the U.S.?

I'm from Palawan. Ordering from Amazon is possible, just like with any e-commerce platform, although some items may require payment of customs duties. Do you have plans to come back to the Philippines?

I may return but if I did I would probably end up on Cebu. Being older and retired I want access to good health care facilities and from my experience Leyte did not have such. The one hospital I visited near Ormoc had cats running free inside to try and keep the rat population down.

The suffering from the totally preventable poverty just enrages me. I am not used to it and I can't take it emotionally. That would be the hard part for me if I return. I tried to spread around whatever $$ I had when I was there, but of course that was nothing compared to the whole...
