I have a few of these excellent quality rotary switches made in the UK by Elcom. I believe these were also made by Painton at some point and Blore-Ed is still making them although they are very expensive.

They are non shorting and I believe the number of steps can be reduced by moving the stop washers. 1/4" shafts
The switches are in NOS condition, never soldered and without any wear on the contacts
